The Hermès Kelly bag was originally designed as a saddle bag for riders heading to hunting events. In 1930, Robert Dumas, son-in-law of Émile Hermès and his successor, created a new, smaller model, giving it a trapezoidal shape with two triangular gussets, a flap, a handle, and two straps. Thus, the iconic and timeless Kelly bag was born. In 1956, Grace Kelly, pregnant with her first child, Carolina, instinctively used the Hermès bag to hide her baby bump from paparazzi. The photos were published in Life, leading to the international success of the "Kelly" bag.
